Holiday Appetizer: Crispy Bacon Wrapped Potato Sticks

This post is written by me on behalf of Tyson Foods, Inc.. All opinions are entirely my own.

Are you ready for a party in your mouth this holiday season?! There’s nothing that says party like appetizers made with Wright® Brand Bacon! YASSsss! Even better these crispy appetizers are easy to make and even easier to eat! This busy season requires so much besides just the “big meal”, right? These can be made ahead and popped in the oven when you are ready.

This recipe is perfect for any of your potlucks all holiday season long! They’re really like a mini meal that doesn’t require a fork. We make these for dinner sometimes too, just because -only 4 ingredients and barely any clean-up. You can make this a family affair! Gather them in the kitchen and get everyone involved.

I will warn you though, I suggest doubling this recipe because they are just that GOOD! One of my family members wanted to lick the pan. Weird, but that’s how tasty these are.

Crispy Bacon Wrapped Potato Sticks

Recipe for Bacon Potato Sticks

Ingredients:

Wright® Brand Hickory Smoked Bacon (24oz pkg)

5 large baking potatoes

1 bunch of green onions, washed and diced

½ cup shredded parmesan

Directions:

Wash potatoes. Square off potatoes by removing the ends. Cut into halves and then half again. Slice into even sticks and soak for 20 minutes. (the soaking is optional but it makes your potatoes crispier.) Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Pat dry the potatoes with a paper towel. Next, cut each strip of bacon lengthwise. You should have two long skinny strips from each slice of the bacon. Wrap each potato stick with the bacon, making sure to evenly space it while pulling it tightly.

Place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes. Flip and bake for 25 more minutes.

As soon as you take out your pan from the oven, sprinkle with the shredded parmesan. Use tongs to carefully place on a towel lined plate to rest. Move to your favorite serving tray and sprinkle with green onions.

Enjoy your potato sticks hot. These are delicious dipped in sour cream or in the zesty bonus dip recipe I included below!

Whenever I’m at Meijer, picking up this delicious bacon is a MUST! Did you know Wright® Brand Bacon is hand-trimmed, hand-selected and naturally smoked with an amazing hickory flavor?! You can find this case of bacon on the other side of the produce area but before you get all the way to the bread. Make sure to fill up that Meijer cart early and often with all of the delicious Tyson® products available. Then you’ll have everything on hand to handle the holiday season with less stress.

BONUS– Dreamy Dip Recipe

Ingredients:

⅔ cup sour cream

3 tbsp. milk

green onions, diced

1 tbsp. of sriracha hot sauce

Directions:

Mix together sour cream, milk and sriracha hot sauce in a medium size bowl with a whisk. Mix until smooth and creamy. Fold in the green onions. Feel free to add salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy! These even have more flavor if you make them the day before. Isn’t having things you can make ahead the best?
