This post about our favorite Sunday dinner is sponsored by Foodie.com.
If there’s one thing that takes me back to my childhood it’s the smell of chicken frying on the stove. The heavenly scent would fill my aunt’s house every Sunday afternoon as my family gathered to spend a few precious hours together before everyone had to go about their busy weeks. She was like a comfort food specialist. She could whip up enough dishes for an army in what seemed like no time at all.
Those were some of the best days ever. I wanted to continue that experience with my children so we spend Sundays doing the same thing only potluck style to make it a little easier for everyone.
We love the oven baked chicken and the chicken fried steak for the main entrees. Pair those with baked beans, my favorite pasta salad, cheesy potato wedges, green bean casserole and sour cream mini biscuits, you’ve got a meal fit for the royal family. We didn’t forget about dessert either-jello parfaits, slow cooker apple cobbler and candy bar cookies . Yum!! All of these recipes can be found up above in the Foodie.com slideshow up above.
Sunday dinners together are a tradition that meant so much to me as a kid and I hope that sharing these recipes will inspire you to start a delicious tradition as well.
