When I know the day is going to be jam packed, as my to-do list for today shows, I need a breakfast that will leave my tied-up-in-knots tummy a little more settled. Since I was a child I have counted on Kellogg’s Rice Krispies to do that. It’s a breakfast that I can quickly sit down to and it makes getting on with the rest of my day easier.
I trust Rice Krispies to do that for my kids too. Whether they have a big test or a physical challenge they feel better when they eat breakfast. Sometimes they’re so wound up about the day that nothing sounds good to them. If I mention Rice Krispies, they will take a minute and have a bowl since they love them so much. Their favorite combination is bananas and Rice Krispies. Sliced thin please!!
Big days are the days when it seems like everything unexpected pops up at the most inopportune times. My secret to make sure breakfast is ready is setting the table the night before complete with bowls, spoons, Rice Krispies and napkins for any unexpected spills. In the morning we just grab the milk and were ready to enjoy a peaceful breakfast in two minutes flat. There’s no indecisiveness about what were eating or arguing about who should get what because it’s all already there. Doing this really makes the day smoother. I don’t know why I don’t do it more often!
Reading this tip from Kellogg’s has reminded me how those big days are easier with a breakfast that works for me and my family. We have a few calm minutes together and that’s how we make big days a little less challenging.
