YAY! It’s time for holiday celebrations with our friends!! There’s practically nothing that excites me more, or to be honest, nothing that exhausts me as much. All that grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning up really takes the Ho, Ho, Ho out of the holidays for me. I was looking for some easy holiday party ideas and recipes and found this awesome one from Busy-At-Home and a group of bloggers while I was searching on Issuu. In case you don’t know what Issuu is-its like Pinterest for magazines! It was chock full of holiday menus and ideas for great products to use to make preparing the menus easier. Doesn’t it all sound super delicious!
This progressive blog party of sorts reminded me of a conversation that my mom and I had about her most fun holiday party ever! It was also a progressive dinner party and was awesome because each participating family only had to make one part of the meal. I started talking about this with my girlfriends and showed them the awesome menu I had found and we all just giggled with excitement.
Each family would only have to create one dish and everyone would get a chance to show us their fabulous trees and decorations. We decided to split it up in three places but all five us of shared in making the meal. We would eat appetizers at my house; then the main meal at my friend Molly’s and finally have dessert and coffee at Sarah’s! We all live only a few blocks from each other, so this was totally doable. A fun holiday dinner together without all of the work!! Why hadn’t we thought of this before?!
If you are planning to have one of these progressive dinners like we are, I’ve embedded the Progressive Dinners magazine below for easy access to all the ideas.
We even plan to make our own Issuu magazine after the event to collect all the photos of everyone, their trees and decorations and their food in preparation for the next time we have one. As far as I’m concerned , we could have one every weekend, since it was so easy to organize thanks to Issuu. You might want to use Issuu for your own magazine if you’re into creating that kind of thing. With over 7 billion page views across 15 million publications to more that 80 million unique monthly visitors, Issuu is the fastest-growing digital publishing platform in the world and is rapidly becoming the place readers go to discover new content and publishers use. WOW.
