Who’s ready to get all crafty up in here? You KNOW I am! You probably have a wall that needs a little sparkle or a cute unicorn right? We’re here to help you out with that! All you need is some super long CVS receipts, an old picture frame and a few craft supplies. CVS receipts are going digital so make this while you can!
This post is sponsored by CVS however the love of unicorns is 100% mine.
When the light hits this just right, a rainbow appears!! How coooool is that!!
First you need, an old picture frame, some CVS receipts( the longer the better), some sparkly tape and a piece of your favorite scrapbook paper.
Next, you’ll need a piece of foam board the fits your frame snuggly. Then just tape your foamboard in a horizontal fashion until its totally covered. You could use any type of tape or even fabric to make your unicorn wall art even more unique.
After that, cut a unicorn silhouette out of your scrapbook paper and set aside. Shred up the CVS receipts as far as you can without cutting all the way to the top. This is important because you will glue them to the back of your unicorn and you don’t want to have to do each one individually. I know what you’re thinking, my CVS receipts don’t look that long. That’s because I used the coupons and Extra Bucks rewards and then they were shorter. If you don’t need your super long receipts from CVS, please send them my way. My friends all want me to make them some wall art too.
Finally, glue your shredded CVS receipts securely to the back of the unicorn. Rubber cement is probably the best for this part. Before I attached it to the frame, I hit it with a spray adhesive and a little glitter(over some newspaper, don’t get crazy). Unicorns require glitter people. Now is when the glue gun comes out! With all that gorgeous mane this unicorn needed the power of hot glue to make sure it stayed in place.
FUN RIGHT?! Now you have your own awesome wall art that is UPCYCLED as heck! Also, unicorns and glitter!
Other ways to use shredded receipts:
Make a brick out of it to use in fireplaces! This is a thing, ya’ll.
For kids art projects!
As packing material for shipping!
Make a preschool sensory bin!
For gift bags!
For seed starter pots!
If you’re not a crafty person or you just like saving paper then you’ll be super excited to know CVS is launching digital receipts very soon! Of course, you have to be a CVS ExtraCare Rewards member so they can send them to you. (Where would they send them if you weren’t? It’s free and you get ExtraBucks and fab coupons so why wouldn’t you want to anyway?) Don’t worry you LONG CVS RECEIPT LOVERS, you can still get paper receipts if you choose to. 🙂
Have you ever created something with CVS receipts? Do you want to make a unicorn out of yours?
