We are a definite pasta loving family! It is the one ingredient that we can all agree on. It’s easy, quick, versatile and delicious!!  Who wouldn’t LOVE that!!

With everything that goes on each evening, it’s sometimes difficult to get everyone to the dinner table at the same time. Especially for our family because my husband works 24 hour shifts as a paramedic. For more that half the week I am responsible for making sure that it all gets done. On the days when he his home, we make a point to spend this important time together. With “The Modern Family Cookbook” (available for download on the Share a Hug Tab) from Barilla, it is POSSIBLE. In celebration of World Pasta Day, we prepared this 4 ingredient recipe and spent some much needed time together just discussing the day.

Doesn’t it just look delicious?

Barilla Three Cheese Tortellini in Sage Brown Butter Sauce

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Serves: 4-6

Ingredients:

1 package           Barilla Three Cheese Tortellini, family size (12 ounces)

8 tablespoons  butter

10 leaves           fresh sage

1/2 cup             Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated

Preparation:

 1. Bring 6 quarts of water to a boil and add 2 tablespoons of salt(optional).

2. Cook tortellini according to the package directions.  3. Melt the butter in a 12 -14 inch saute pan and remove from heat as soon as the butter begins to turn golden brown. 4. Add sage leaves to the pan.  5. Drain the tortellini and add to the butter and sage mixture. Return the pan to medium heat.  Toss gently for 1 minute to coat the tortellini with the sauce. Divide tortellini among six warmed plates, sprinkle with the grated cheese and serve immediately. Enjoy!!
