Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff For Moms #DontSweatMoms

A good book is a summer pleasure whether it be a great beach read or just a story you can escape in. Today I have the opportunity to introduce you to a book that is not only helpful but is a must read for all moms. Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms by Kristine Carlson has so many fabulous tips to make you feel fantastic, celebrate other mothers and just plain rock motherhood no matter what stage of the journey you’re in.

About the book:

In the first new Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff book in nine years, Kristine Carlson shows how moms can live with less stress and more happiness. Kristine Carlson gives mothers tried-and-true advice that will empower them to find greater peace, joy, and harmony within themselves and their homes.

About the author:

Kristine Carlson is an international bestselling author and a leading expert on love, success, grief, happiness, and parenting. Along with her late husband, Dr. Richard Carlson, Kristine has experienced phenomenal success with the “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff” series. Kristine has been featured on national radio and television broadcasts, including The Today Show, Empowered Living Radio, The View, and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

My favorite chapter:

I love to keep this book in the car so I can reach a chapter while waiting in the carpool line, sitting at a practice or other times when I can grab some quick advice to keep me empowered. I still read Chapter 30, Powered With Your Passion, whenever the need arises. It talks about not having mom guilt because your work outside the family( whether paid or unpaid) is just as important as the work you do for the family. It further discusses Kristine’s real life examples, things you can do in your own life and fabulous tips to implement. It justifies that we all need a creative outlet to express our passions, and I love that!! This chapter comes in so handy when I need an uplifting word to prioritize my choices and still EXCEL at my FAVORITE  job as a mom.

Other FAB chapters:

  • There’s No Such Thing as a “Perfect” mom
  • Building Your Family Team
  • Under-Promise and Over-Deliver
  • Celebrate Other Mothers
  • Lifeline Sundays
Now being a Don’t Sweat Mom doesn’t mean being stress free but honestly, every chapter has excellent takeaways for having a less stressful family life and ways to enjoy the little things that made you want to have a family in the first place. For me, this was one book that I can use as a resource time and time again! What’s more FABULOUS than that?!
Here I am below, taking some time out in the sunshine to read a chapter while the kids play. Do I look stressed?? Heck no, thanks to #DontSweatMoms !!

  1. Thank you for your great message for moms! As a mom of 3 and life coach for working women, I am spreading the word about letting go of perfection and celebrating the small moments. My favorite tip for moms is to learn to say “no” more often. Amazing how time expands when we learn and use that magic word! jameetenzer.com
